CHILLING PICTORIAL HISTORY OF DACHAU. Softcover edition by Barbara Distel and Ruth Jakush of the museum catalogue for Concentration Camp Dachau, 1933-1945. Printed by Comité International de Dachau, Munich, 1978, showing the development of the site as an SS training facility and concentration camp.Translated by Jennifer Vernon, it was designed for English-speaking visitors to the Dachau Memorial Museum, opened on May 9, 1965. Profusely illustrated with photographs and facsimiles of original documents, the catalogue shows how Dachau came into being and how it was developed during the Nazi era, firstly as a training center, and then as a model camp for the SS in the perfection of the inhuman concentration camp system, a training ground for the extermination camps of Auschwitz, Majdanek [and] Treblinka. Very good condition. 229 pages.
