A collector's piece - Beverley Nichols's third detective novel.

Of the more than 60 books of the prolific English author Beverley Nichols, five were detective novels, all collector's pieces. This is the third in which Horatio Green, a middle-aged privte detective of independent means, helps solve a murder. The killing happened on a Ghost Train ride at a fair. A scream to end all screams is not part of the horror ride - it is the death scream of a woman killed by a bullet through the left ear.

A Thriller Book Club edition published by Hutchinson, London. No date of publication printed in the book, but books with the same jacket are stated as first editions printed 1956. Condition: Good. First few and last few pges have brown stains but all text clearly legible. Foxing t edges of book block. Dust jacket.
