A tea saucer by Royal Albert in a very rare pattern called "Grass Widow?", which was only produced during the late 1940s and 1950s.
This series was designed by the popular Scottish newspaper cartoonist, Arthur Ferrier (1891-1973). It consisted of six humorous depictions of women engaging in sports (at that time) mostly associated with men: Golf (the one on offer here), Fishing, Yachting, Bathing (Swimming), Skating and "Domestic Bliss".
It is in good condition with no chips, cracks or grazing. The gilding on the rim is mostly worn off (see last photo). Diameter about 13.6-8cm.
Note that there are two of these saucers available. You can buy one or both by changing the number in the "Quantity" box when doing checkout.
