First edition published 1921 by Constable and Company Ltd., in original maroon cloth, worn, with splits at spine ends. No jacket. First few of the 396 pages including index are starting to detach. 16 photographic plates and folding map as required are present and undamaged. Scattered foxing along external pages edges, and tanning of endpapers. Pencil notes accompany the author's signed and dated dedication on the first end-paper.
