Published by Hodder & Stoughton, this is the fourth "Black Jacket" edition of May 1945. The jacket is tatty and worn, with some loss to the edges and spine. The boards are also a bit worn, and are sun faded in areas corresponding to pieces missing from the jacket. the spine is cocked, and the corners are bent inwards. A large ex-libris label is pasted in to the front oard, and the name of a previous owner is wirtten opposite in pen. There is some light spotting to the war-time quality paper pages, which are otherwise still well bound and clean, although some of the photographic plates are creased.
