These porcelain (no earthenware!) plates were partly decorated in transfer technique, and partly decorated by hand in cobalt blue after Dutch illustrations. At Royal Goedewaagen in Gouda the plans were then glazed with lead glaze (clear lead glaze). The plates depict the 4 seasons in 19th-century Dutch landscapes. They are signed on the back
