Inspiration Behind the Painting:
This painting was inspired by the landscape of the Swellendam District (N2 highway). I wanted to capture the beauty of the land with it's trees and farmlands and the vast array of bird life. I hope to evoke a feeling of whimsy and tranquility with this painting.
I've used gold foil in the landscape to add a splash of verve to the scene.
These little paintings make for excellent birthday/wedding/housewarming gifts or perfect fillers for those small bare wall spaces that need a little lift.
