OUTSTANDING QUALITIES
Royal Jewel is one of the newest additions to the Sakata broccoli range, specifically developed for its field tolerance to the devastating clubroot disease that affects all brassicas. Royal Jewel has been trialled in areas prone to clubroot infection, and has shown promising results. The head quality of this variety is especially good in warmer seasons but has been planted year-round in mild climatic conditions. The head is set deep in the upright, vigorous growing plant. This helps protect the head against sunburn damage, resulting in an excellent end-product. The dome-shaped heads of Royal Jewel are made up of fine blue-green coloured beads, resulting in a very attractive pre-packed product, but its longer stems also make it suitable to be used for processing needs.
