Amazing Art Deco 'Theodor Fahrner' Silver, Opal & Marcasite Brooch
This amazing, top quality, art deco piece of jewellery from the 1920/30's, was produced by the 'Theodor Fahrner' company in Germany and other than a tiny stone missing its in excellent condition. The silver brooch consists of two beautiful and very colourful large round cabochon cut opals, with a large round frosted matte finish, rock crystal in the centre. These are set in a beautifully designed, good quality art deco sterling silver frame set with rows of marcasite stones. Today, 'Theodor Fahrner' is one of the most sort after names in 20th century costume jewellery, and at the time, was among the most popular and prosperous jewellery houses in Europe, and remained so until the 1950's. The back of the brooch is stamped '925' along with the 'Fahrner' signature hallmark 'TF' within a circle. The brooch is oval in shape and measures 5,6cm x 3,5cm, the opals each measure 15mm in diameter, with the centre stone measuring 26mm in diameter. This is a gorgeous, rare, vintage brooch by a well-known jewellery designer, and by far, one of the nicest 'Fahrner' brooches I've come across.
