The Brand name "PeDe" originated from Germany in 1869.  The owner of the Company Peter Dienes used an abbreviation of his name as a Brand.  He specialised between 1869 and his death in 1899 in manufacturing quality wooden and cast iron Coffee Grinders.  When his sons inherited the Coimpany after his death, Friedrich and Peter Gotlieb moved over to manufacturing Electric Models as well after the early 1900's.  The Company went bankrupt in 1962.  As can be seen from the photos, this particulr model has a small defect in that the top lip of the grind drawer has broken off, but can be repaired.  A truly remarkable remnant of the past in Coffee Grinder history.
