Rare in the dust jacket and signed.

Description: Signed and inscribed by author on title page: "With best wishes from/ F.D. Ommanney/ 10.11.39". In the rare pictorial dust jacket with a photograph of R.R.S. ( Royal Research Ship ) Discovery II breaking the ice on the front. From the collection of Leila Limington, who also had a number of other books signed by Antarctic explorers, including 5 signed by E.R.G.R. Evans. Her name and address on the front free endpaper. Outer leaves foxed but very good in a original green cloth boards. Dust jacket is price clipped and has edgewear. All photographs are present.
