Vinateg Microscope circa 1960

In a maple box are housed two eyepieces and two objective lenses. This microscope, type K, was manufactured by the firm of Dr. C.E. Bleeker in Zeist, the Netherlands. Instruments by Bleeker were also marketed under the name of Nedoptifa, representing Nederlandse Optische Fabriek (Dutch Optical Factory).

It features an inclinable stand made of black enamelled injection-moulded aluminium. The diameter of the objective thread is smaller than the usual RMS thread, and the eyepieces are smaller (19 mm) than the standard 23.4 mm size. The tube length measures 12 cm. According to a 1962 catalogue, this microscope was priced at 225 Dutch guilders.

The design of this microscope is based on the Zeiss E stands from around 1935. The moulded horseshoe foot has two flanges between which the limb can be inclined over an angle of 90 degrees. It includes a square stage with two spring clips. Below the stage is a flat and concave mirror in a bracket; the mirror can be moved out of the optical axis by a swinging bar. There is no condenser or stop. Adjustment is achieved using rack and pinion.
