Self-published softcover, undated. Wraps are worn, rubbed and creased. Signed author dedication to first end-paper, that has small patches of surface insect damage, and traces of a liquid mark to the bottom edge, likewise the inside front wrap opposite. Signed again by the author on the title page. The frontispiece portrait page, containing a portrait of Jan Smuts, has a circular stain on the edge, that diminishes over the next seven pages. The pages are otherwise clean and unmarked.
