Ministry of Sound's The Annual: 2012 features 60 commercial and crossover dance tracks across three discs. Like most MoS releases, the tracks are mixed, technically, but the emphasis is on each selection, not quick-wrist DJ maneuvers -- the shortest track is Vato Gonzalez's "Badman Riddim," which is trimmed of only two minutes. This Annual indeed contains many of the year's most notable club tracks, and there are no stylistic barriers. Among the highlights: Friendly Fires' "Hurting [Benoit + Sergio Mix], SBTRKT's "Pharoahs," Katy B's "Broken Record [DJ Fresh Future Jungle Mix]," Example's "Midnight Run," and Sander Van Doorn's "Koko." ~ Andy Kellman
