This book, title translated as  ' the canon was sent for the use of bishops and prelates celebrating solemnly or privately.' was


the personal copy of Dr. John Leonard, Vicar Apostolic of the Cape of Good Hope and Titular Bishop of Corada, [1872 - 1908] and presented to him by Cardinal Paul Cullen, Archbishop of Dublin.


                       The Canon Missae is the oldest anaphora used in the Rite of Mass and was used in the Tridentine Missal from Pope Pius V in 1570 to Pope John XXIII in 1962..
