South Africa 'Red Cross' Medals & Epaulettes (D.H. RAINE - 289 V.A.D.)
This early group of 'South African Red Cross' medals and epaulettes, consists of three medals, a solid silver and enamel proficiency medal awarded to 'D.H. RAINE, No 4111', a brass and enamel medal for three years service and a copper 'PRO PATRIA' medal, presented by the 'Durban Recruiting Committee', plus a pair of red epaulettes with white metal shoulder titles of the '289 Voluntary Aid Detachment'. They're all in good condition with the epaulettes measuring 12cm x 5cm, and the silver medal weighing 16.1g.
