About this Item:

The author is May Byrne, later May Lawrie.

Complete 2 volume set.

Publisher: London, Longmans, Green and Co., 1874

An important milestone in that it is one of the first published books written by a South African woman. Rare.

First Edition. In original green boards with gilt decorations and titles to spine and decorations on front board. Original brown endpapers. Binding tight. A bit of wear to tops and bottoms of spines but overall a very good set and very rare in the first edition.
