Antique 'Southend-On-Sea School Attendance Medal (1908)
This very early, quality, bronze medal was awarded to 'IVY CROSS' in 1908. These medals were awarded to school children in the late 1800's and early 1900's to help improve attendance levels. The education authorities rewarded children who had spotless attendance records, with these medals. The front reads 'SOUTH-ON-SEA EDUCATION COMMITTEE' and on the backreads 'AWARDED TO IVY CROSS FOR REGULAR ATTENDANCE 1908'. The medal is in excellent condition and measures 38mm in diameter with a weight of 32,3g.
