Danish Silver & Enamel Boxed Spoons (ELa - Denmark)(Asprey's)
This impressive set of six vintage, Danish, sterling silver, gold vermeil and enamel coffee spoons from the 1960's are in excellent condition and come in their original, burgundy velvet and white satin lined 'Asprey's' presentation case. The spoons have beautiful guilloche enamelled handles in various colours with a gold vermeil finish. They were manufactured in Copenhagen, Demark by 'Egon Lauridsen' (E. La) and imported into England by importers 'S.J. Rose & Son' (S.J.R),and sold by top British retailers 'Asprey's & Co' (Silversmiths & Jewellers to H.M. The Queen), in New Bond Street, London. The spoons are stamped on the back 'Ela DENMARK STERLING 925 S' along with the British import hallmarks for London 1962, and 'S.J.R' for the importers. The inside lid of the box is stamped 'BY APPOINTMENT SILVERSMITHS AND JEWELLERS TO H.M. THE QUEEN' 'ASPREY & Co. Ltd. NEW BOND STREET, LONDON'. The spoons each measure 9,4cm in length and together weigh 50,4g.
