More True Stories From This Africa: Volume 2

This book of short stories, first broadcasted over the old Springbok Radio, were adapted to the written word, and lost nothing in translation. It is history at its best. The author weaves a tale around a real incident in some part of Africa, making it both readable and interesting. Some of the incidents are well-known, such as the sinking of the Birkenhead at Danger Point near Gansbaai while transporting troops and a few civilians to Algoa Bay, and the execution of Piet Retief and his men by Dingaan. There are also many simple, humble stories that bear witness to the achievements of men of time past.
