The backstamp on this platter was used from 1891 into the 20th century.
Spode is one of Englands great names from the Industrial Revolution, established in 1767, with Copeland becoming a partner in 1797, and only closing in 2008 after 230 years of continuous production. Now owned by Portmeirion.
