Who really was the family that inspired The Sound of Musicone of the most successful films of all time? Here, Maria Augusta tells the whole true story. She was sent as a young novice to look after the large family of the widowed Baron Von Trapp. She brought with her little besides her guitar and the gift of happiness. She quickly transformed the gloomy house outside Salzburg into a place of bubbly musical activity and won the love of the baron. Maria's optimism and determination carried the family through many trials and a miraculous escape from the Nazi occupation.
This is the 6th impression of 1966, published by Collins/Fontana. Condition: Fair. The front, back and spine of the original dust jacket were cut out and pasted on the red cardboard cover. Inside pages browned with some foxing, but text is still very clear and readable. Previous owner's name in front.
