Rare find: Antique footed biscuit plate from renowned manufacturer Pinder, Bourne & Co, established circa 1848 at Swan Bank Works, Swan Square, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
Not for practical use: Intended for advanced collectors due to age and historical significance.
Authenticity: Marked with incised Pinder, Bourne & Co maker's mark dating from c1848-1850, along with the Peony P.B & Co Brown Stamp.
Pattern: Features the exquisite Peony (Italian Floral Design) in reg class 4 ornamental, showcasing intricate brown transferware decoration.
Condition: Pre-owned, showing expected signs of wear consistent with its 175-year history. Hairline crack in the underside of the foot rim (non-detectable by fingernails) and brown discoloration, but no chips. Fully over-glazed with identification markings and decorations intact.
Artisan details: Artisan/employee markings or initials with a dark brown or black 'C' on the underside.
