A History of Lloyd's of London, from its founding as ordinary seventeenth century coffee house to the great public and international institution it had become at the time of publication of this rare and fascinating book. Richly illustrated with b/w (and some coloured) photos and drawings, plates (both colour and b/w, and protected with tissue) and the occasional foldout.
Hardcover in very good condition. Tanned with light foxing on prelims, otherwise clean and neat with a tight, square binding. No dust wrapper. Burgundy cloth boards with gilt coat of arms (on front) and titling (on spine) - mildly edge worn and lightly scuffed but intact and attractively mellowed.
