The inscription in the book (written in Greek) Philip Of Macedon by Miltiade B. Hatzopoulos and Louisa D. Loukopoulos reads:
"Veria, 2 Oct 1996, In memory of the visit by the Deputy Minister of National Defense of South Africa and Ronnie Kasrils to the Royal Graves in the Capital of Macedonia "Vergina". (Hammond N.G.L)."


The stamp is that of the Hellenic Republic Army General Staff 2nd Army Corps.


The signature is of Lieutenant General Georgios N. Manias, Commander of 2nd Army Corps.


Side Note: Nicholas Geoffrey Lemprière Hammond, CBE, DSO, FBA was a British historian, geographer, classicist and an operative for the British Special Operations Executive in occupied Greece during the Second World War. Hammond is seen as the leading expert on the history of ancient Macedonia.
