Erna Furman lived in Terezin Concentration Camp and survived. She attended many of the lectures and concerts in Terezin and kept meticulous record of these. She also was an accomplished artist and studied with Friedl Dicker-Brandeis in Terezin. She saved many of her drawings and some appear in the book. She eventually lived in Cleveland, Ohio, having an outstanding career as child psychoanalyst and therapist. She worked half a century at Cleveland Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development.
