Italy "National Liberation Committee" "Zona Aosta" - 1945 - Full set of Sheets (some broken down) - Unused

The National Liberation Committee (Italian: Comitato di Liberazione Nazionale, CLN) was a political umbrella organization and the main representative of the Italian resistance movement fighting against Nazi Germany's forces during the German occupation of Italy in the aftermath of the armistice of Cassibile, while simultaneously fighting against Italian fascists during the Italian Civil War. It coordinated and directed the Italian resistance and was subdivided into the Central Committee for National Liberation (CCLN), which was based in Rome, and the later National Liberation Committee for Northern Italy (CLNAI), which was based in Milan. The CNL was a multi-party entity, whose members were united by their anti-fascism.

As the German forces were pushed back towards the end of WW2 a number of towns in Northern Italy issued their own stamps. In some cases these were little more than "propaganda issues" to raise funds from philatelists but some were used as postage in local areas.

Full set of sheets of 10 (some of which have torn apart) plus 2 miniature sheets, contain original gum and never hinged but with severe perforation folds/tears. Also one or two contain minimal handling damage and/or small spots of rust/foxing (nothing major). Handle with care.
