Journey From The West : Cat and Mouse with Self Love

Clayton Frick

We humans search to find meaning and enduring contentment in our lives, and when we don't find it, we might slowly drift onto the rocks or even plunge deeply into crisis.

Yet all along our path, Life has left clues for us to find fulfilment. This novel is the distillation of such a story, over many years, where a young man goes through phases of being awake or asleep, depending on the status of his romantic life, along the road, from city to city, from country to country, to realize his true potential and discover the truth about Love. Predominantly the catalyst for his growth and transformation comes through the Arts, where the Universal Muse conceals itself, thus in the music, poetry and paintings that happen into our life. Equally important though are the role models and teachers that arrive at crucial moments to help steady the ship and place a bundle of wise words before our aching eyes. Protagonist, Carl Kreutzmann, has exactly this experience as he travels from England to France, to Australia, America, Germany and Italy, before finding his home in Sydney as a far more contented man, accepting of his place and role in the world. Of his few remaining desires is the wish to share his journey with others, from the intellectual West to the spiritual East, from the mind into the heart.
