Large Royal Doulton 'Bill Sykes' Dickens Ware Plate
This large, early 1950's rack plate, which was manufactured by Royal Doulton, is from the Dickens Ware Series and depicts 'Bill Sykes', who was a ruthless character in the Charles Dickens novel 'Oliver Twist' and his dog 'Bull's Eye'. The plate has 'Nokes' signature on the front and the Royal Doulton back stamp, along with the special Dickens Ware mark and pattern number 'D6327' on the back. It is in excellent condition and measures 26.5cm in diameter.
