Condition: Good. Binding tight. Text block complete, no missing or loose pages. Small scuff mark to top edge, otherwise only light edge- and shelf wear to the boards--rubbed, not scuffed, or frayed. Not faded. Title and author name bright and clean. Corners lightly rubbed but still sharp. Foxing to top edge only. Substantial tanning and some foxing to endpapers. Persistent foxing throughout text block, mostly limited to top margins. Dampstain to top edge which, from second half of the book, causes a buckled appearance to top margin of pages. Persistent short and brisk inkless indentation marks in the page magins throughout the text, presumably a reader's place marks and emphasis.
Dust Jacket condition: Fair. Scuff marks near bottom edge of front cover; Considerable scuffing and chipping to top edge of jacket, wih small tears at the hinges. Scuffing and chipping along hinge of back flap. Lower edge also chipped at hinges but less so. On the inside of DJ, dampstains to top of front jacket. Inside and out, dampstains to top of back cover, top of spine and down hinge of back flap. Spine of DJ faded and shelf rubbed. Back cover of DJ generally has a yellowed, shelf-rubbed, dampstained and slightly wrinkled appearance.
