Mini Royal Doulton 'Auld Mac' Character Jug
This early, mini, Royal Doulton character jug 'Auld Mac' was produced between 1946 and 1985 and designed by 'Harry Fenton'. 'Auld Mac' was a character inspired from a song by 'Sir Harry Lauder' called 'Bang Went Sixpence', about a Scotsman named 'Mac' who found the prices too high in London. 'Bang Went Sixpence' is incised on the back of the jug on his tam hat. This lovely hand painted jug is in excellent condition and measures 6,5cm x 4,5cm with a height of 6cm.
