Signed and inscribed by the author and others on front paste-down. Frontispiece, 12 plates, red cloth, titled gilt on the upper cover and spine, contents bright, foxing on end papers and sporadically throughout. Boards are stable, but with small water stains front and back, edge worned and cloth torn especially on corners, corners bent from shelf wear, colour faded from age. Spine is faded from sun exposure, on 3rd upper part of the spine and bottom of the spine the cloth is worn, torn and partially loose (see photographs).  Text block: other than foxing in a good to very good condition considering its age.
All pages yellowed and foxing throughout. Errata slip p 190.
Illustrated with portraits and scenes.

A very informative, very interesting account of early sportsmen (i.e. hunters), many of whom are known very slightly if at all.
Altogether a rare treasure. Illustrated throughout with b/w illustrations. Pages within are complete with all plates present. The binding is secure.
