The epic of a modern day exodus of Jewish people to the Promised Land.
In 1949 thousands of Jewish people, about whom few had ever heard and who had lived since the days of the Queen of Sheba in the fastnesses of the Yemen, began the long, desperate trek across the sand and mountains of Arabia to British-held Aden and thence to Palestine, inspired by rumours of the new Kingdom of Israel. They first came by stealth out of Arab bondage and then, after the astonishing decision of the Imam of the Yemen to let them go free, in an uncontrollable flood. With black and white photographs.
