The Jam Bowl has a very unusual shaped top and lid and has the number 7536 and 51 on the base. The small plates have the number 7536 and 19 on the base. With the Thomas stamp and R in the shield with 1 dot below the shield, indicates a manufacture date of @ 1950's.
The plates and bowl have no issues and the gold trim around the edging is in very good condition on all the pieces.
Fritz Thomas founded the Porzellanfabrik Thomas & Ens in Marktredwitz in 1904 in the German Franconian region. In 1908 the firm was taken over by the Rosenthal Group. In 1960 the production in Marktredwitz was discontinued. The new plant at Kulm in Speichersdorf was opened as a replacement.
Rosenthal GmbH is a German manufacturer of porcelain products and other household goods. The original firm was founded in 1879 in Selb, Bavaria. Since 2009, Rosenthal has been owned by the Italian company Sambonet Paderno Industrie (Arcturus Group).
