For the porcelain dog collector looking for a lovely St Bernard, the Coopercraft Pottery has produced a remarkable St Bernard standing with it's head positioned looking slightly to the right.

The St. Bernard or Saint Bernard is a breed of very large working dog from the Western Alps in Italy and Switzerland. They were originally bred for rescue work by the hospice of the Great St Bernard Pass on the Italian-Swiss border. wikipedia.

Coopercraft evolved from the Summerbank Pottery, Tunstall, Stoke-On-Trent, England.
The pottery was started in 1952 by William Bailey, a High Street Pottery Wholesaler in Tunstall.
His wife Irene inherited the pottery in 1955 and moved to larger premises on Butterfield place, Tunstall with the Directors being Irene B Cooper (nee Bailey) and Frank E Cooper. After various cahnges of ownership the pottery eventually closed down @ 2004. (ThePotteries.org)
