Lightweight, compact, and ergonomic, these 8x40 SFL Binoculars combine ease of use with the premium optical quality ZEISS is known for. The SFL (SmartFocus Lightweight) line uses slightly smaller objective lenses for a significant weight reduction from previous models, making a day of nature observation or sightseeing much more comfortable. The expansive 420' field of view aids in following or searching for visual targets. Turn the focus wheel just 1.4 turns for the 5' close-focus distance, assuring a good look at that nearby bird or butterfly. Schott HT glass with the famous T* ("T star") coating delivers 90% light transmission for a beautiful image, even in the low light of dusk or dawn. The 8x40 SFL is nitrogen-filled to prevent internal fogging and is waterproof to a depth of nearly 14'.
Lightweight Design
The lightweight yet rugged magnesium housing also enhances durability and longevity for generations to come. The smaller lens diameter allowed ZEISS to use thinner lens elements that could be installed closer together. At the same time, the SFL binoculars offer perfect image quality despite the incredible reduction in weight and volume relative to other models.
