WW2 - Scarce 1941 'Cartoons by EVO' Book (Signed Evo, Moth. 0)
This lovely, scarce, signed 1940's book titled 'Cartoons by Evo' (1941 Greetings from Tamango) is a wonderful wartime publication by 'Charles Evenden' (1894 - 1961). He was well known for being the inspiration and founder of the 'M.O.T.H.S' (Memorable Order of Tin Hats), a remarkable organization of ex front-line soldiers. The author went by two bynames, as the cartoonist at the 'Natal Mercury' in Durban, he was known as 'Evo', and as the founding member of 'MOTH', he was given the title 'MOTH 0'. This soft cover book is signed by the author with both his bynames 'Evo, Moths No 0' and the date '1941'. It consists of 32 pages, each page with a large cartoon done by the author, and other than a little foxing in places is in great condition and measures 25cm x 18cm.
