Sterling Silver and Amber Drop Earrings
The modern, sterling silver (partially gilt) drop earrings have poles and butterflies. Each has a small, silver, navette shape, with a fixed, small loop, attached to the pole. This supports an oval pendant which is tube-set with an oval, cabochon-polished, amber (10mm x 8mm honey-coloured with some inclusions). The tube setting is gilded and is surrounded by a dimpled silver frame. The earrings and butterflies are marked "925".
