Book looks about new and unread to me.   >>>  Catherine finds out that she is dying.  She is visited by a ghost of one of her ancestors who asks her to find the missing pages from her story as a Jew at the time of the Inquisition.   In a plan to bring her two very different granddaughters together, she asks them to find the manuscript.  Hannah's story is interspersed with the two women as they travel across Europe in their search.   In their travels, the two meet men who help them not only with the hunt for the manuscript, but bring the promise of relationships.   I loved this book and was completely drawn into Suzanne's and Francesca's search for their history.   The author does not shy away from some of the horrors of the time, including the tortuous methods used by the Inquisition.   I enjoyed the historical and the contemporary story and her imagery was terrific.   I would recommend this one to anyone who enjoys historical fiction.  (Goodreads)
