Hardcover first published 1936 by Jonathan Cape, no jacket. The boards are lightly worn and the corners bumped, and the top edge of the pages is discoloured, with a few small patches of liquid stain appearing at the top of some pages towards the end of the book. There is mild foxing to title page, that also contains the name of a previous owner in pen. Pages are all still well bound, bottom edges rough cut. Pictorial pastedowns (map of Damaraland) at front and rear.
