Stylish and elegant used Circa 1880, Victorian Walnut carved Chaise Longue, upholstered in blue with deep diamond tufting.
The top carved with flowerheads and buds against a stippled ground. Conforming carving to the top right side, above a button-back blue upholstery. The armrests with scroll carved ends above a shaped and foliate carved apron resting on two front foliate-capped cabriole legs with scroll feet and two tapering cylindrical back legs.
In today's home decor, the chaise is most often seen on the end of a sectional and sofa or, in rarer cases, as a stand alone long chair. It helps bring together the look and feel of a living room by adding space for families to kick their feet up and relax more deeply, in a half sitting, half lying position.
