Doulton Lambeth Victorian Hallmarked Silver Collared Hunting Jug Circa 1898.
A LATE VICTORIAN LAMBETH HUNTING JUG WITH HALLMARKED SILVER COLLAR AROUND TOP STAMPED JD/WD (james deakin and sons) LONDON, 1898. JUG DECORATED IN HUNTING SCENES AND RELAXING HUNTER. STAMPED LAMBETH ON BASE. STANDS 6inch (150mm) high
This pitcher was made at the end of the 19th century. Well over 100 years ago. It looks like it was made yesterday. The images are applied with a method called sprigging. There are hunting dogs and scenes of village life. Tan and brown. There is a silver rim with English hallmarks. Marked on the bottom Royal Doulton / Lambeth. Very special. Preloved...But this pottery pitcher looks perfect to me. Any white spots are reflections.
