Hardcover first published in Great Britain 1956 by Weidenfeld & Nicolson. The jacket is worn and torn, and missing a large piece from the spine. The boards are clean, square and unmarked, apart from bumping to corners. With the exception of two names of previous owners in pen inside the book, all pages are clean and unmarked. The author, a "distinguished Austrian anthropologist, went to Tibet and the neighbouring mountain countries to study the legends, customs and religious traditions of the Himalayan people."
