An exceptionally rare late 19th-Century / early 20th-Century KPM German porcelain plaque, with beautiful hand-painted scene creating a formal artwork in its own right. KPM was known to recreate classical paintings onto their porcelain wares and plaques by their skills artists, however this piece we could not trace to an original piece.
The painting has various elements forming a picture of grandeur and a taste for the exotic: from an elaborate castle-type mansion to hawking with hunting dogs, exotic birds in the far background and a non-European person on the right.
See photos for details - a magnificent and rare find! In excellent condition with original frame, with the original framer's label still partially visible on the reverse.

Some history on KPM:
"Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur, or KPM, is Germany's Royal Porcelain Factory.
Across the 18th and 19th Centuries, KPM was one of Europes most consistently commercially successful ceramics enterprises. It also benefited from important financial backing: first from the Prussian crown, and later from the unified German state. One particularly distinctive output of the KPM factory in the 19th Century was the wide range of porcelain plaques it made."

Dimensions: the plaque (excluding frame) measures 25 cm x 19 cm, and in frame measures 37 cm x 31,5 cm. (Code: 22BV048)
