A thick gauge solid and sturdy silver lidded glass vanity trinket box. The lid is beautifully decorated and hand engraved. 1843. Hallmarked London by Frances Douglas. A maker well known for making vanity sets The hallmarks are clear but the makers mark appears not to have been stuck well, The glass base is original and in excellent condition with no chips . Heavy glass with sunburst pattern. L 12.5 H 3.5cm W 3.5cm.
