This is a traditional local Heirloom Variety of South Africa.
A good flesh, delicious for baking, and cooking. These also have a long storage life especially in dry climates. Harvest end of summer, into autumn, and you can have delicious home grown pumpkin throughout winter.
These have a long growing season, you need 115 to 130 days of frost free warm weather.
If you are looking for a very large White pumpkin, you must allow only one pumpkin per plant to grow. These have been known to grow to up to 12 kg. Make sure you keep it well fertilized with a low nitrogen organic need. If you are wanting plenty smaller pumpkins, then more female flowers to set fruit.
