Arbutin Benefits

Glucosylatedhydroquinone, derived from the leaves of fruits such as bearberry, pear and cranberry.

This compound is known to inhibit activity of enzyme tyrosinase that is responsible for formation of melanin (pigmentation)

Warnings. When taken internaly Alpha arbutine can easily be converted to hydroquinone by the intestinal bacteria. This can however lead to intestinal cancer related conditions.

Use it only topicaly 3-4% is the proven highest safe concentration in beauty products.Arbutin appears to be less irritating than hydroquinone when used in similar concentrations. It also is reported to cause less sun sensitivity.
