BNC Video Balun enables the transmission of CCTV/HDTV video using ordinary unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wire instead of coaxial cable. Cost effective and much easier for installation. UTP cable is less expensive then coax cable, One cable runs all, one pair for video, two pair for power, and you got 1 pair for spare or 3 pairs for Y/Pb/Pr, one pair for SPDIF/IEC958 digital audio in HDTV applications. These Video Baluns also work over existing UTP cabling, making them perfect for use in nearly any building or across an entire campus.
UTP cables have become increasingly popular in CCTV security installations because they are smaller in size than coaxial cables, making cable density less of a problem. They are also easier to terminate, which speeds installation.
Video Baluns and UTP composite cables are ideal for use in closed circuit TV (CCTV) installations in homes, offices, universities and correctional facilities, as well as in public spaces such as hospitals, airports, sports stadiums, casinos and amusement parks.
Transmit video over point-to-point Unshielded Twisted Pair wire, 24-16AWG (0,5-1,31mm), stranded or solid, Category 2, or better.
Transmit color or monochrome applications up to 2,000 feet. Passive design provides immunity from noise and interference and does not require power supplies. Compatible with all "up-the-coax" systems to provide video and control over a single twisted pair.
The purpose of Video Balun is to allow traditional 75 ohm coax cable to be replaced by Category 5 (or better) twisted pair in the CCTV security and surveillance environment, thereby allowing CCTV camera and monitoring equipment to be deployed more cost-effectively using structured cabling techniques.
Video Balun allow video signals to co-exist in the same wire bundle as telephone, datacom, or low-voltage power circuits. This allows the use of a shared or existing cable plant. With built-in transient protection, damaging voltage spike problems are eliminated.
Video Balun works with any analog base band video equipment that supports NTSC, PAL or SECAM systems; CCTV cameras, video multiplexers, video switchers, monitors, scan converters, signal boosters.
This screw terminal Video Balun has two screw terminals on the end. It has the same functionality as our RJ45 terminal Video Balun but features screw terminals instead of an RJ45 connector, thus allowing you to utilize the other pairs and there's no need to crimp-on RJ45 connectors.
This is professional CCTV Video Balun, special designed to meet CCTV video signal tansmision requirments, not the regular Balun for network purpose, Ethernet uses 50 Ohm impedance. CCTV RG59/RG6U cable use 75 ohm impedance. Our Video Balun are 75 ohm impedance capable of handling the requirements of CCTV signal transmission standards with exacting performance.
