An EXCELLENT example of a 1858 Indian Mutiny Miniature Medal with Lucknow Clasp & Silk Ribbon. This piece appears to be in a well-preserved state, with minor surface wear due to handling. Campaign Clasp is secure & Silk Ribbon remains intact. Medal suspender appears to have been repaired at some point in time. Fastening Pin has expired due to age-related wear.
The Indian Mutiny Medal was awarded to military personnel who participated in the suppression of the 1857 - 1858 uprising. This piece retains the 'Lucknow Clasp' for troops who were under the command of Sir Colin Campbell, and effected the surrender of rebels at Lucknow.
The ideal addition to any 19th Century, Colonial British Campaign Miniature Medal collection or display.
