An EXCELLENT example of a 1880 - 1890 Natal Carbineers Smasher Hat Badge. This piece appears to be in a well-preserved state, retention lugs remain - but the Queen's Crown is no longer present. The Unit was formed in 1855 , and participated in the Langalibalele Rebellion, The Anglo-Zulu War, The Boer War, and 1906 Bambatha Rebellion.
The ideal addition to any 19th Century, Natal Carbineers Insignia collection or display.
